  The Associate Director leads undergraduate recruitment within Nebraska and key national markets, with a strong focus on transfer recruitment. The position executes and informs strategies to grow enrollment and strengthen pipelines from alternative high schools, community colleges, four-year institutions, military-affiliated populations, adult learners, and workforce partners. Under the guidance of the Executive Director of Admissions, this role uses data to identify new opportunities to expand the undergraduate student pipeline. As part of the Admissions Leadership Team in the Academic Services and Enrollment Management (ASEM) division, the Associate Director will collaborate with peers across the division, using data to guide recruitment and provide leadership to achieve enrollment goals. This position provides leadership and direct supervision for staff responsible for undergraduate student recruitment, working closely with the team to design and activate effective outreach, pipeline development, and recruitment strategies. The Associate Director trains staff in best practices and directs both in-person and virtual recruitment efforts to convert prospective student leads. The Associate Director reviews recruitment data and territory results and makes data-driven decisions to achieve enrollment targets. This position also provides backup support for the Associate Director of recruitment within Nebraska.
  The Associate Director exercises judgment in enforcing admissions policies, making recruitment decisions, and overseeing functional initiatives aligned with strategic priorities. As a liaison between Admissions and academic colleges, the Associate Director identifies undergraduate enrollment opportunities, streamlines pathways, and leverages resources such as articulation agreements to provide students with clear guidance. This role builds strong partnerships with advisors, counselors, workforce partners, and others to expand access and foster successful undergraduate enrollment pipelines. The Associate Director coordinates with Visitor Experience to ensure effective resource allocation for on-campus recruitment events and activities. The position provides leadership support to the broader admissions team and may serve as a proxy for the Executive Director of Admissions. Regular travel, including evenings and weekends, is required. This position and its supervised staff are based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Travel to partner institutions, workforce organizations, recruitment events, and priority markets is expected.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of professional experience in recruitment, enrollment management, admissions, enrollment marketing, or other related fields
  • Demonstrated experience in public speaking and delivering presentations
  • Experience supervising professional staff, including responsibility for performance management and team development
  • Experience using Salesforce or another customer relationship management (CRM) system to inform strategy and track outcomes
  • Ability to analyze and interpret recruitment or enrollment data to inform strategic decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and present information to stakeholders
  • Knowledge of first-time freshmen and transfer admissions recruitment, operations and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Event planning and coordination skills
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision or administrative support
  • Willingness to travel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
