Regional Admissions Counselor - Transfer

Lamar University Regional Admissions Counselors are responsible for recruiting prospective students by promoting Lamar University programs to undergraduate students, pre-admission advisement, and matriculation to ensure enrollment goals are met. This position is remote and will live in the Southeast or Houston, Texas area and reports directly to one of the Associate Directors of Admissions, Recruitment. 

• Recruiting prospective transfer students by providing accurate and timely pre-admission advisement to prospective students, parents, families, and other members of the public through various sales methods and recruitment strategies, including, but not limited to, automated and personalized communication, community college visits, pre-screened cold calling, presentations, etc.
• Attending events and making presentations to communicate with prospective transfer students and their parents to promote Lamar University and its programs.
• Assisting all prospective students and their families with the ApplyTexas Application, Common App, Federal Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA), and other pre-college preparation requirements and questions.
• Facilitate recruitment planning and strategies based on yield data for assigned territories and recruitment specialty areas.
• Working directly with area institutions of higher education, technical centers, businesses, and other constituencies in activities designed to prepare students for college and enrollment at LU.
• Attend, collaborate, and assist in mandatory recruitment events both on-campus and off-campus, including but not limited to Cardinal View, Admitted Student Day, Cardinal Sendoffs, Internal Staff Conferences, etc.
