Lamar University Regional Admissions Counselors are responsible for recruiting prospective students by promoting Lamar University programs to undergraduate students, pre-admission advisement and matriculation to ensure enrollment goals are met. This position is a remote position in the Dallas and East Texas area and will live in the regional area and reports directly to one of the Assistant Directors of Admissions – Recruitment.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
Recruit prospective freshman students by providing accurate and timely pre-admission advisement to prospective students, parents, families, and other members of the public.
Facilitating the pre-admission, conversion, admission, and enrollment process through various sales methods and recruitment strategies to include, but not limited to automated and personalized communication, high school visits, pre-screened cold calling, presentations, etc.
Attending events and making presentations to communicate with prospective students and their parents to promote Lamar University and its programs.
Facilitate and implement recruitment planning and strategies for assigned territories and recruitment specialty areas based on managed yield data within a database system.
Assisting all prospective students, and their families while on call with the ApplyTexas Application, Federal Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) and other pre-college preparation requirements and questions.
Train and mentor new Admissions Counselors and Regional Admissions Counselors throughout their first recruitment cycle through one-on-ones, team meetings, chat availability, shadowing opportunities, etc.
Working directly with area high schools, technical centers, businesses, and other constituencies in activities designed to prepare students for college and enrollment at LU.
Attend, collaborate, and assist in mandatory recruitment events both on-campus and off campus, including but not limited to Cardinal View, Admitted Student Day, Cardinal Sendoffs, Internal Staff Conferences, etc.
