MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A Bachelor’s in Education, Social Sciences, Human Resources, Public Administration or related field from an accredited college or university is required.  A Master’s degree is preferred.  Two (2) years of related experience is preferred. A valid Texas Administrator’s Certificate is preferred.  

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:  This position requires knowledge of curriculum systems and frameworks. Incumbent must establish a clear vision for the campus. Presentation skills, disaggregation and utilization of data, and organized time management is ideal. Incumbent must also have the ability to develop and implement systems to collect and assess data to drive interventions, foster collaboration, and establish a high performing learning culture and climate. Incumbent must understand and enhance community and parental involvement, create a community of leaders, develop and implement an effective school-wide plan, all while maintaining fiscal responsibility and resourcefulness. Work requires implementing effective professional development on campus and effectively communicating with staff.  

JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:  Incumbent is responsible for providing leadership in the design and coordination of activities/projects and collaboration efforts, implementation and evaluation of programs which are directly linked to the educational initiatives of individual schools and the district.  In the area of  Early College Programs, incumbent may support the implementation of quality after school programming throughout the District.                                                                                       

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Instructional Management ▪ Design and implement strategies that will increase each student’s academic success. ▪ Develop a data driven focus on students and on the quality of work provided to students. ▪ Build and support dual credit programs that result in students graduating with an Associate’s degree, a level I, or level II industry recognized certificate. ▪ Work with staff to plan, implement, and evaluate instruction on a systematic basis in a way that aligns with district framework. ▪ Strategically allocated resources.  ▪ Identify, use, evaluate, and promote appropriate technologies to enhance and support instruction and curriculum leading to high levels of student achievement. ▪ Systematically monitor instructional and use findings for corrective action, improvement, and recognition of success ▪ Implement a system for creating and maintaining professional learning communities that facilitate collaboration among teachers and college instructors and promotes exceptional instructional effectiveness.  School/Organizational Climate ▪ Promote positive relationships on the campus through active listening, communication protocols, and conflict resolution. ▪ Foster environments where campuses focus on student achievement, purposeful and engaging learning, and a safe, caring environment.  ▪ Promote high expectations for students and staff to advance student learning.  ▪ Support and articulate district and campus beliefs and vision on each campus.  ▪ Develop structures to build leadership capacity through innovative teacher leaders and other leaders throughout the system. School/Organizational Improvement ▪ Develop and implement systems to assess student performance, customer satisfaction, and community perceptions. ▪ Plan and implement an overall school improvement plan that targets the needs of the Early College Programs. ▪ Ensure improvement of the Early College Programs by analyzing data trends and implementing researched based innovated instructional strategies ▪ Collect, analyze, and utilize data to 1) ask questions; 2) reframe problems, 3) improve the organization. ▪ Connect instructional goals to the AISD vision, mission, beliefs, and strategic goals for Early College Programs ▪ Support district and school efforts to recruit students to Early College Programs Personnel Management ▪ Set high expectations and monitor the quality of instruction and the level of learning occurring in each classroom. ▪ Systematically implement an evaluation process that focuses on teaching and learning. ▪ Promote mutual resolution of conflict utilizing pertinent data in negotiation, mediation, and counseling strategies. ▪ Devote time and resources to the support of professional development needs and to ensure that the organization maintains direction and focus for all staff. ▪ Model and facilitate professional growth for all staff. ▪ Recruit, retain, and support high quality staff members who are committed to student achievement in all aspects of Early College programs.  ▪ Make appropriate recommendations relative to personnel hiring and placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal. ▪ Develop knowledge about succession planning and identify how to apply this knowledge to critical leadership role. ▪ Provide an exceptional customer experience for all AISD stakeholders with intentional and professional practices that promote a culture of respect and focus on achieving equitable outcomes.                                                                                             

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:  Perform other related duties as assigned; however, all employees are expected to comply with lawful directives in rare situations driven by need where a team effort is required.

 PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:  This position involves working in a normal office setting with no unusual physical demands or exposure to hazardous situations.  This position may involve rare exposure to blood or body fluids.  Regular attendance is required for this position. This position may require in-District travel.  

PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS:  Incumbent receives regular administrative supervision.  It is expected that some incumbents will be more involved than others in planning and coordinating program activities.  Supervisor may provide detailed instruction regarding changes in policies, procedures, or laws, or in reference to unusual circumstances or problems.  Incumbent has significant contact with principals, teachers, parents and other school staff to offer guidance, exchange information, and develop programs.  Incumbent may also maintain contacts within the community to develop programs and utilize additional instructional methodologies.
